Advice on diaper rash?!?!?! HELP please! :)

My son has had a terrible diaper rash since Monday....i have tried 3 different creams and just letting him be naked for a while and nothing is working. It is starting to go up his back as well, it's bumpy and red and he gets annoyed when he has to be wiped. I'm just wondering what other people have found to be helpful? or if he needs to go to the doctors? Thanks!

  1. Hi there. In my opinion I would take him to the Dr. I have a friend and her daughter had a really bad diaper rash that would not go away. She eventually took her in and they gave her a special cream. Some are hard to get rid of. Good luck!

  4. Definitely take him to the doctor it could be a yeast infection. My son had a really bad rash last year he spent a couple of days with only cloth diapers and i changed them every time they got wet I also washed him with soap and water after every soiled diaper. I also used goats milk diaper cream and corn starch.

  5. It sounds like you're doing everything right. If it still hasn't resolved, I'd take him to the doctor. Our daughter had a similar rash and it turned out to be a yeast infection. The prescription cream should help a lot if this is indeed the case.

  6. My son had the same thing last summer and we took him to the DR. We were told to go to the pharmacy (in a drug store, anywhere really) and ask the pharmacist for Benadryl cream, for babies.. We have also tried the Benadryl liquid as well, both worked wonders and cleared it up fast.

  7. This may sound weird but if you are breastfeeding try putting some milk on the rash. Breastmilk is seriously magic. Though if the rash looks kind of blistered it could be a yeast infection and the doctor will probably recommend some monistat cream or some prescription. Never hurts to have the doctor check it out.

  8. Try the aveeno oatmeal bath. I have major bum problems with Isabelle especially when she drinks apple juice. Dilited or not. Than what I do is cover her in canestan. And it usually take a couple of days and then it starts to clear up.

  9. Hi, I've always found that if I mix a little polysporin in with the diaper cream that my little boys bum heals a lot quicker. I've even had the pharmacist recomend hydrocortizone cream. But like some of the other girls have said maybe I'd get it checked out because if it is a yeast infection the treatment could be something completely different. Good luck!!! I know these rashes are never fun.
